Rotating stabiliser upgrade installation

Rotating stabiliser upgrade installation

D&S Resources delivered fabrication, electrical, and mechanical works for GE Renewable Energy's Murra Warra Windfarm in Victoria's Wimmera region — replacing and upgrading the rotating stabilizer within a fixed annual shutdown window. Scope covered removal and modification of the RS cooling unit and enclosure, stainless steel piping changes to the cooler pump unit, air baffle installation, and works carried through to installation, commissioning, and full ITP documentation.

Skills/services demonstrated

  • Shutdown-window execution — critical turbine component replacement and upgrade delivered within a fixed annual shutdown period, showing capability to work to a hard outage deadline
  • Multi-trade delivery in one scope — fabrication, electrical, and mechanical/piping works combined under a single engagement
  • Precision stainless steel modification — piping changes to the cooler pump unit
  • Enclosure and access modification — removal, panel modification/installation, and reinstatement of the RS enclosure
  • Component-level fabrication — air baffle installation inside the RS cooler
  • Installation and commissioning — carrying works through to confirmed operational handover
  • Quality documentation — ITPs provided as part of the deliverable, not an afterthought
  • Renewable energy sector capability — extending D&S’s demonstrated experience beyond mining into wind energy infrastructure, a notable diversification point for the business
