D&S provided construction and maintenance services to design, supply, manufacture, assemble, quality assurance, inspection, testing, packaging and identification of the Wellfields and general site construction for the Honeymoon Project in South Australia.
The Project, owned by Boss Energy Limited, is located approximately 80 kms from the town of Broken Hill, near the South Australia/New South Wales border. Access to the Project is via the Barrier Highway to the Mulyungarie Road turn-off, approximately 7 kms west of Cockburn and then via an unsealed access road to the site.
The works comprised electrical and hydro testing of 3 existing wellhouses and filter skids and refurbishment. This is followed by the construction of 3 new wellfields comprising the installation of pumps, installation of HDPE pipework, plumbing and electrical connections, testing and commissioning.
The responsibilities and obligations included:
- Develop, QA/QC, Inspection and Test Program and Work Packages
- Engineering Design
- Procurement, onboarding, inductions
- Wellfield 1, 2 and 3 Refurbishment and Construction
- Hydro testing existing pipe, flanges valves, filter skid and wellhouse
- Refurbish filter skid and wellhouse
- Integrity test Wells
- Install pipework, pressure test.
- Install pumps, run electrical connections, test electrical.
- Commissioning; test pumps, instrumentation and pipework.
Other works included:
- Plant demolition of existing steelwork, solvent extraction columns and mixer settler tanks
- Removal of existing dryer
- Installation of new Ion Exchange columns and dryer/calciner
- Additional SMP works to integrate the new components into the plant
- Upgrade and refurbishment of site amenities including offices and laundry facilities
- Supply of HDPE fitting/ pipe and valves
- Fabrication of HDPE Well spooling
