Location:
Beverley Uranium Mine, Beverley, SA
Duration:
5 months
Located in South Australia, the Beverley Uranium Mine sits between the northern Flinders Ranges and Lake Frome, approximately 550 km north of Adelaide. This site is known for its uranium processing capabilities, handling uranium from nearby deposits through a series of advanced operations including elution, iron removal, precipitation, thickening, drying, and packing.

The Expansion Project

To enhance the mine’s capacity and efficiency, Heathgate Resources (HGR) embarked on an expansion project focused on integrating the Four Mile North (FMN) deposit. The key component of the project was the installation of a new trunkline to connect the Beverley process plant with the FMN wellfield, ensuring efficient material transport.

D&S played a critical role in the successful execution of this expansion project.  Our responsibilities included:

  • Mobilization to Site
  • Personnel Onboarding to Site
  • Site Supervision / Project Management
  • Fabrication of Creek Crossing Tee from pipe supports and pipe restraints
  • On- Site Steel Welding of Creek Crossing Tee Frame Pipe supports / Pipe Restraints
  • HDPE Welding of DN500 Trunk Main
  • Installation of Valve Stations and Piping Instrumentation
  • Hydrostatic Testing of HDPE DN500 Trunk Main
  • QA/QC Documentation and MDR Handover

This expansion project significantly boosts the Beverley Uranium Mine’s operational capacity and efficiency. By upgrading facilities, enhancing infrastructure, and expanding systems, the project ensures that the mine can handle increased production demands while maintaining high standards of safety and environmental management.
